The useful part, explained properly.

When a workflow is worth keeping, I write down the exact process, references and prompts so you can rebuild it without digging through scattered notes.

Choose a tool for its walkthrough, original source and setup steps. Some tools are skills added to Claude or Codex rather than standalone apps.

First time? Start with your task

Start here

Both run on a computer without Claude or Codex. These workflows need no subscription: Buzz with a local model, and LosslessCut from the official GitHub downloads.

On your phone? Choose a tool here, then open this same page on your computer to download and install it. Buzz and LosslessCut do not run on iPhone or Android.

Buzz

Need a transcript or subtitle file?

Use Buzz to turn audio/video speech into TXT or SRT/VTT.

  1. Download your computer’s version below and install it; choose and download a local model for first use.
  2. Import a short clip, choose Transcribe and the language, then Run.
  3. Review words and timing; export TXT for text or SRT/VTT for subtitles.
Download Buzz · choose your computer

For computers, not Android or iPhone. Links open the official source in a new tab; Windows and Mac require selecting a file from the list. Avoid download advertisements.

Windows · official download page ↗

In the file list choose Windows-X64. If it is a ZIP, extract it first and open the app from its folder.

macOS · official download page ↗

Choose ARM64 for Apple Silicon or X64 for Intel. The last Intel-compatible release is 1.4.5. Extract ZIP if supplied; open the DMG and drag the app to Applications.

Linux · official download page ↗

Open Buzz on Flathub and follow Install. Set up Flatpak on your computer first as required by your distribution.

To identify your Mac: Apple menu → About This Mac; Chip means Apple Silicon, Processor Intel means Intel. Downloads can be large; use your computer and a suitable connection.

Official installation instructions ↗
Full Buzz guide →

Review transcript accuracy; subtitle files need importing into a compatible editor.

LosslessCut

Need to trim unwanted footage?

Use LosslessCut to keep a section of a video and export a new file.

  1. Choose your computer’s download: extract the Windows 7z or open the Mac DMG; Linux AppImage needs executable permission.
  2. Open a short video and mark the start and end of the section to keep.
  3. Click Export and confirm settings, then review the output’s cut points and audio.
Download app · choose your computer

Computers only. On Mac: Apple → About This Mac; Chip means Apple Silicon, Processor Intel means Intel. Windows: extract 7z before opening the app; Mac: open DMG and drag to Applications; Linux: allow the AppImage to run as a program.

Requires Claude Code, plugin installation and project scoping, code review and testing. Complex apps take further technical work.

Before you start: Computer with a plugin-capable Claude Code session; enter /plugin commands in Claude Code chat, not the terminal. Some helpers need Python 3.8+.

  1. Open Claude Code on your computer and sign in.

  2. Install the plugin using the two commands below inside Claude Code chat; restart the session if needed.

Download the official GitHub app and trim local files. No subscription, account or API credits are needed; paid store editions are optional.

Approachable for one-segment trimming: open a video, mark start/end and export. Windows first needs 7z extraction; review the exported cut points.

Start here: download the app for your computer

Before you start: A computer: 64-bit Windows 10/11, macOS 12+, or Linux compatible with the x64 build. Windows needs a 7z extractor; on Mac choose Apple Silicon or Intel. Check the release requirements for your computer.

  1. Choose your computer’s download. Windows: extract the 7z and run LosslessCut.exe from its folder; macOS: open the DMG and drag the app to Applications; Linux: allow the AppImage to run as a program in file properties, then open it; check your distribution’s requirements.

  2. Open the app and drag in a short video. Mark the start and end of the section to keep on the timeline; default shortcuts are I for start and O for end.

  3. Click Export, review the output folder and filename, then confirm export. Play the result and check the cut points and audio before using it.

First try: keep ten seconds of a sample video, export to a new file and review it.

Official GitHub downloads are free under GPL-2.0. Trimming local files needs no subscription, AI account or API credits. Paid app-store editions are an optional way to support the project.

For normal use, choose your computer’s app file from the download menu. The separate source ZIP is for inspecting code; these steps need no programming commands.
