An AI employee on your computer? Watch the video

Watch Moath introduce Understudy, then explore the demos and setup guide below.

The Instagram player loads only when you click. If it does not appear, use the direct video link.

Not a magic employee. A tool for tasks.

Understudy can operate Mac interfaces and browsers, manage files, run terminal commands, send messages and repeat remote tasks. Delegate a clear task, such as preparing a file, rather than handing over an entire business.

Published demonstrations

What was shown, and what it does not prove

These are project-team demos. We have not independently verified success on a user's computer.

01

A phone message, a task on Mac

What was shown?

A published Telegram demo asks the Mac agent to turn a page into a PDF and send it to a contact.

What does it not prove?

It does not establish access to every contact or reliable file delivery without channel setup, permissions and recipient checks.

02

Show a task, then reuse it

What was shown?

The user demonstrates an image search, an edit in Pixelmator Pro and delivery to Telegram, then publishes a reusable Skill.

What does it not prove?

One example does not cover every case. Different interfaces, files or goals may require correction and review.

03

An app review from discovery to upload

What was shown?

AI App Critic finds Snapseed in the real App Store, uses iPhone Mirroring, explores the app, edits a review with FFmpeg, uploads it to YouTube and cleans up. The team describes six stages, about one hour and 51 exploration quality rules.

What does it not prove?

It does not guarantee review quality, upload success on your account or unattended reliability. Appropriate apps, accounts and setup are needed.

Before you try it

Does Understudy replace an employee?

No. It helps with specific computer tasks and needs setup, permissions and human review. Published demos do not establish a complete employee replacement or reliable unattended operation.

Is it free?

Its source code is free under the MIT license. Model APIs, hosting and running a computer may cost money. There is no documented fixed cost per task.

Does it work on Windows and Linux?

Desktop GUI interaction and learning from demonstrations currently require macOS. Windows and Linux GUI support is not available in the reviewed documentation, while CLI and browser components are designed for multiple platforms.

Does all data stay local?

No such guarantee is made. Some data stays local by default, but screenshots, images or demonstration clips may be sent to your chosen model provider. Review its settings before using sensitive data.

Do the demos guarantee success on my computer?

No. They are project-team demonstrations, not an independent audit. Results depend on your setup, permissions, model and applications. Start with a non-sensitive task and check the result.
