Installing ROX apps: what is actually known?
Phone apps, the official Russian ROX Store and third-party Rox Premium are three different routes. BYD USB instructions must not be copied to ROX; no reliable evidence confirms ordinary APK sideloading via USB on stock UAE ROX firmware.
Before any APK: required safety checks
Identify your exact vehicle: ROX 01 versus ROX ADAMAS, market and ROX OS version in Settings.
On stock firmware, require written confirmation from ROX UAE that your build supports APK installation or an official app store. There is no independently verified generic USB method for Gulf ROX.
For normal navigation and music, use iPhone CarPlay or Android Carbit. Neither needs a head-unit APK nor developer-mode changes.
For other apps, do not install Rox Premium or firmware patches yourself. Require a professional compatibility assessment, warranty implications and recovery plan.
Protect your phone: never install car-targeted APKs on your phone, avoid unnecessary SMS/contact permissions and never post VINs or passwords in public chats.
With unofficial Rox Android Auto, GW-CLUB says enabling its USB connection disables CarbitLink until its USB permission is turned off.
No modification can be guaranteed 100% error-free just because a video or another vehicle shows success.
Simplest
Route 1 — No vehicle modification
UAE-market ROX 01 lists CarPlay and Android screen mirroring through Carbit.
Install navigation or audio apps from the phone's official store.
While parked, connect through the car's CarPlay or Carbit interface and follow the on-screen instructions.
No vehicle firmware change or head-unit APK is needed. Video apps may not be available through CarPlay.
Regional
Route 2 — Official Russian ROX Store
Check your ROX OS version and the vehicle's market.
In Russia, ROX requires Global V1.6.1A+ and installation by an official dealer.
After setup, owners register with VIN and phone, select a plan and pay in the store.
Install apps on the vehicle, which can update when online. This route has not been confirmed in the UAE.
Specialist
Route 3 — Third-party ROX Premium
GW-CLUB's unofficial environment is not a one-file USB APK install.
Confirm your exact ROX OS build with the developer and ask about warranty, updates and restoration.
The developer lists UAE Telegram installer @SMA_ROX. Never share a VIN or ownership documents in public groups.
After professional setup and license activation, Rox Premium can manage apps and system app updates. Android Auto may require a separate license.
Avoid untrusted firmware from chats or instructions for another vehicle: a failed update can disable infotainment hardware.
Owner reports are useful but do not establish compatibility across software versions. Netflix and YouTube may depend on DRM, Google service compatibility, licenses and internet access. Do not bypass driver-facing video restrictions while driving.
Choose the route based on the app and your vehicle's software. This is a cautious guide, not documentation of a successful installation on a Gulf-market ROX.
1. Check vehicle software
Note whether you have ROX 01 or ADAMAS, your market and the ROX OS version shown in Settings. Updates can change app permissions.
2. Try CarPlay first
For navigation and music, the simplest supported route is an iPhone app through Apple CarPlay, if your car supports it.
3. Check the ROX Store option
The documented Russian ROX Store requires dealer setup and subscription. Ask your regional dealer before assuming it is available.
4. Never assume APK support
Saving an APK to USB does not mean your car can install it. If the system offers no installer, do not force it or modify factory software.
Safety while driving
Never show video or interactive browser content to the driver while moving. Use only factory-permitted features while parked or on approved passenger displays. We do not provide factory-restriction bypass files.
Sources and verification
Independent from ROX Motor. Android APK downloads link directly to GitHub release files, not mirrors hosted on this site. CarPlay apps stay unchanged. APK compatibility on UAE ROX displays remains untested.
