BYD apps Reel data: what 111,000 views taught me
Original Instagram data from my Reel on adding apps to a BYD screen: 111,607 views, 2,970 saves, 3,106 shares and an analysis of 1,455 viewer comments.
Key findings
My 24 October 2026 Reel on adding apps to a BYD screen with a USB stick reached 89,452 accounts and got 111,607 views. People saved it 2,970 times and shared it 3,106 times, roughly 2.6 times the number of likes. 90% of viewer comments were the keyword BYD to get the app list, and 88% of viewer comments arrived in the first 48 hours.

What the data says
Useful content gets saved, not liked
Saves (2,970) and shares (3,106) beat likes (1,148) by about 2.7 times. People treated the Reel as a tool to come back to during installation, or to send to a BYD owner they know. That is 33.2 saves and 34.7 shares per 1,000 accounts reached.
The demand was for the list itself
1,308 of 1,455 viewer comments (90%) were the keyword BYD or a near spelling such as Bud or PYD. Viewers wanted the files, not only the explanation.
The first two days were almost everything
1,278 viewer comments (88%) came in the first 48 hours. After day three, demand shifted to search and the BYD apps page on this site.
The real questions were about compatibility
After asking for the link, the most common questions were: will it work on my car, do I need to enable ADB, and what if the system blocks installs. People also asked about specific apps such as Netflix, YouTube and Google Maps.
Demand goes beyond BYD
Owners of other Chinese cars asked about the same method: Jetour G700, MG, Icaur V27, ROX, IM LS9 and Denza. BYD models named included the Leopard 3, 5, 7 and 8, Qin Plus, Qin L, Seal, Song L, Dolphin and Destroyer.

What I changed because of this data
- I built the BYD apps page on this site with the files, the guide and the warnings, so the demand does not depend on a direct message.
- I added a compatibility and safety section: software differs between cars, check the warranty before installing, and never play video while driving.
- I wrote a dedicated BYD Leopard 5 UAE guide because it was the most asked about model.
Method
- Figures were pulled from the Instagram Graph API for my account on 1 November 2026: views, reach, likes, saves, shares and average watch time.
- I exported every comment (2,794 returned by the API out of 2,795) and removed my own replies and automated messages (1,339).
- Comments were classified by keyword match, then the remaining 176 were sorted by topic. Small counts may be off by one or two.
- No usernames or identifying comment text are published.
